Have Summer Plans?

Camp Aranu'tiq has popped up on quite of few blogs I have been following lately, so naturally I had to investigate. The camp is a stellar idea! It has the traditional summer camp set up with outdoor activities, sports, and arts and crafts, but what makes this camp so awesome is that it is for transgender children. The camp is non-profit, volunteer run by qualified staff members, and a great safe space for transgender kids to do what they do best: play! The word Aranu'tiq comes from a Native Alaskan language, Chugach, and means a person who was thought to embody both the male and female spirit. The Aranu'tiq were thought of as being lucky because they were able to transcend all gender binaries. The camp is always looking for support, whether it be donations or possibly volunteering for a week to help with the camp. Check out more about the camp here!
